Coat season is officially here!
& as much as I love cuddling up on the couch, binge watching series with a smouldering cup of hot chocolate – unfortunately such cannot be done the entire winter season.
I have noticed that there seems to be this misconception that style goes completely out the window when it is winter. We tend to get so frosted by the cold that we just layer on the clothing and forget our personal sense of style – in the hopes that we’ll make up for it in summer.
Well, through my winter jacket collection, I am going to show you how you can keep warm this winter without losing your personal sense of style.
I am no stranger to colour. Given my pseudonym, Yellow Orchid Child, I believe I am one of the biggest advocates of a colourful wardrobe. Add some layering and there you have it – Amanda’s not so definitive style.
With that being said, here are some the vibrant pieces in my Winter Jacket Collection:
- THE PUFFER JACKET
Light, but incredibly warm.
The puffer jacket is super on trend right now, available in a vast array of colours.
I opted for a baby blue puffer to complement my monochromatic hues of blue outfit.
2. FAUX SUEDE BOHO JACKET
Suede [or faux suede] has seen itself fast becoming one of fashion’s favourite fabrics.
This boho inspired jacket gives me so much life because of its contrasting but brilliant fabrics – the faux fur inner and the faux suede outer.
I must say, the warm colours this jacket possess makes it the epitome of winter fashion. Makes me imagine nights cuddled next to the fire place with a hot cup of coffee and a good book.
3. TWO TONED JACKET
FIRE. ENGINE. RED.
A timeless winter favourite. Truly, one can never tire of this colour.
As one of the primary colours, it is important to note that red goes with almost everything.
I try to style this jacket with a muted outfit to let the jacket do all the talking but note for the brave – bright red and bright yellow are a combination made in heaven!
4. LONGER LENGTH PARKA JACKET
The colour of the year, and my favourite colour (of course).
Because of its length, the longer length Parka Jacket is perfect for most outfit choices – whether it be jeans and tee, mini midi or maxi dress.
I usually opt for the jeans and tee combination or even the jersey dress.
I don’t like the cold as much as the next person, but through this post I wanted to show that one does not have to drown themselves in mismatching jerseys, scarves and jacket to beat the cold.
Invest in coats or jackets that are warm but still closely align to your sense of style.
Believe it or not, all of the jackets above were thrifted.
