#ShineYourLightEveryday with Neutrogena

“Wash, wash, wash. Tone, tone, tone. Strip the oil, then add an oil-free moisturizer to replace the oil. This is how we’ve been taught to care for our skin. It seems a little crazy when you see it in print, right? Take all that oil out and add chemicals to replace it. Nuts!”

I am not afraid to admit that I could quite possibly be a bit of a lame excuse for a female – and I mean that in the nicest way possible, don’t worry.

I mean, skincare routines and things of that nature have never really been my thing.

In my defense, I do believe that was a result of fear and the lack of expertise.

I was always afraid to try products out of fear that I’d spend all that money on something that either wouldn’t work or would make the situation even worse. Didn’t help that I knew nothing about skin/skincare, what kind of skin I have and what type of products and brands would best suit my needs – therefore skincare always took the back burner.

“It’s never too late to look after yourself. Never too late to eat healthily, get plenty of rest, exercise regularly and look after your skin. You’d be amazed at how quickly your skin and body can rejuvenate given the right environment.”
― Jana Elston

How excited I was to be given the opportunity to be part of the #ShineYourLightEveryday with Neutrogena project courtesy of Beauty Bulletin.

I will admit, I was a little nervous and scared because I wasn’t entirely sure what the outcome would be once I started. Think as humans that is one of our greatest fears, the unknown.

Once the products arrived, all of that went away and I almost felt a sense of peace.

If anyone knows me or pays attention to my Instagram stories, you will know that my slogan is “gleam and glow” – which simply means let your light shine through all that you do. So when I found out the project message I had that ‘its meant to be’ moment.

I have never in my life felt as confident and magical as I have in the 3 and a half weeks I have been using the Spot Proofing Range.

Each of the 5 products in the range have a uniqueness about them (whether it be texture or effect) but still work beautifully together on skin.

With its fresh scent and fun looking packaging, Neutrogena has made it a lot less of a chore to take care of your skin.

The range has Clear Defend Technology which helps remove spots and further prevent any more from developing.

It is important to note that there is only so much a product can do, it is also your responsibility to ensure that you help your skins in other ways such as simply drinking more water.

“Consider the impact of your personal care choices on our health, water supply and our wider environment.”

I won’t lie, there is one product in the range that I am not as excited to use everytime – the 2in1 Wash-Mask.

Reason being, it has a minty/menthol thing going on that unfortunately has the worst effect on my eyes.

Other than that it leaves your skin feeling smooth, glowing and smelling heavenly.

I am ever so grateful to the Beauty Bulletin team and Neutrogena for introducing me to a range that not only has such a huge impact on my skin but my self esteem as well.

I was able to stay positive throughout even on days I had no energy or desire to use the products.

I am gleaming and glowing all day everyday thanks to the Neutrogena Spot Proofing Range available at Pick ‘n Pay, Dischem and selected pharmacies for just R549,75 for the whole range (R109,95 each).
