Conversations With Myself [Part 2]: Aurora

“Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. ”
– M. Scott Peck

May I ask you a question, although I’ll proceed to ask anyway – its always polite to ask.

Why do you love others way more than yourself?

Almost every night I watch you cry, yet in the day you’re “okay”.

I don’t think you fully understand the detriment:

Living by Philippians 2:3 but completely disregarding yourself.

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.”
– Lucille Ball

I wanted to ask you another question, but your mind seems to be running a marathon, so let me give you a break.

But I want you to know that I love you, although I may not show it sometimes but truly I do.

I know it may be difficult for you to accept this, but I need you to understand..

Do you really believe it is alright for you to give give give, end of it all you’re left squeezed dry like an orange;

bright – beautiful to look at but essentially useless.

Have I not told you countless times,

that you  gleam brighter than the galaxy – radiating in the lives of those you touch?

I still do not understand why you let the sun set on your smile,

when your twinkle is everlasting.

I want you to allow yourself to feel

Feel every molecule in the air move within you as you take that first breath when you wake up

Feel your soul dance to the rhythm of your heart beat as you love yourself,

& unconditionally.

My challenge to you is to choose you,

not just on a Tuesday but every single waking day.

Let not your glow mattify,

at the expense of those who turn the lights off

when it suits them.

How proud you make me

Gleam & glow Aurora,

I love you.

Stay beautiful, stay blessed,

-Amanda Klaas xx
